#MarkWarnerMum, Can the Fiveadventurers go skiing?
As I have been blessed with insomniac children (they are beyond cute so its all balances!) I am usually awake in the early hours of most mornings and on one of these occasions I happened to stumble across the #MarkWarnerMum ambassador programme.
So the little adventurers, Doc and I let our creative juices run wild and through our collaborative efforts we made the following video.
We had the most amazing, fun time making the video and regardless of the outcome I am immensely proud of Maya. For a 5 year old to learn so many lines in a day, and sing with such passion, Mummy & Papa Adventurers are so, very, incredibly proud! (Hope the judges are feeling the cuteness factor here!) Joking aside, I think this video is the epitome of us as a family, we have a refreshing and unique view on things that may already exist but once we add our own individual, fiveadventurers spin to it, it makes for a fantastic new experience for all!
So what are family holidays?
Family holidays for me is pure, idyllic family time. In our daily lives we often get so caught up in the trivial details (homework, clubs, chores) that we have a tendency to forget the things that really matter. The very things that we will remember in years to come, the ones that make us smile as we are about to drift off to sleep. Family holidays are about finding the magic in everything and making these memories to stay with you for a whole lifetime, which warms your heart every time you remember them. Whether it be cuddling for hours without clock watching or worrying about chores, sharing a story to two and having time for the fun ones that you make up on the spot. Holidays are running and racing on the beach, having a snowball fight and sledging down the slopes, building your own castle or den, and an ice cream or three.
We often hear people talking about travelling with small children in two ways. Those without children often remarking “there’s no point travelling with young children…’ to parents often commenting “how and why would you travel with children that young”. But here at fiveadventurers we love holidays and travel, its almost part of the essence of what we are as a family. Travel provides us with the opportunity to have the quality time together and embark on a new adventure, ticking off milestones, starting our own traditions and learning new things. So, …
whether its relaxing on a beach in Dubai,
or going through a rainforest or getting stuck up a mountain (with a 6 month old in a carrier) and having to walk down in Malaysia
or rock pooling and playing by the sea on the Northumberland coastline
we love to try and share as many new things with our little adventurers as possible. No adventure is too small or too far…we are always up for a challenge! We have been far and wide with our children (you won’t believe how may miles these kids have clocked up!) and it is only the start of our adventure!
One thing that as a parent I get most excited about is trying a new activity together as a family. To have that feeling of excitement of trying something for the first time, those butterflies before you embark on the adventure, is something that words cannot really describe. I love that feeling of wonder coupled with the heartfelt laughter you experience enjoying each others mistakes but the camaraderie and family spirit you feel when you are doing something together. We went to our first festival as a family in 2013 and it was a fabulous experience, we have been camping with a 6 month old (again a first for us all!), glamping in Northumberland to a road trip with our extended family.
As soon as I board a plane or embark on an adventure with my little family, it is that sense of freedom and excitement that I have, truly gets the blood racing!
So why the fiveadventurers the right choice for Mark Warner
Is it a bird? or plane? no, its an Asian family on the ski slopes! 🙂 I had to add this into the post as we often get people looking at us as if we have three heads if we do something that does not fit the convention/image of what they expect of us. We are indeed a family who are from an ethnic background and we are immensely proud of our heritage (it does have the added bonus that we are able to provide a first hand insight to communities who aren’t usually targeted by ski holiday operators ) But thats not all we are, we are fun loving, adventurous and forever energetic (The Duracell bunny has nothing on my little adventurers).
I have always wanted to go skiing but growing up (I am from an amazing family of eight) it was something that was not feasible and for one reason or another we have never made it to the snow slopes. Being chosen to be the #MarkWarnerMum would mean we have the opportunity to get us all on the ski slopes together, learning something new and making memories that will be forever treasured! As all the media critics are saying 2015 is the year of the vlog, and we have set up our YouTube channel and Maya will be our vlogger, putting on videos of our adventures, near and far. We know they will be fantastic as the world through the eyes of a 5 year old is one of immense beauty, magic and wonderment that as adults we fail to see.
We would be immensely proud and incredibily excited if we were given the opportunity to be selected as Mark Warner Ambassador for 2015. Travel and my adventurers (big & small) are my greatest passions in my life, we would love the chance for you to give us a try! Fingers crossed and thanks for reading my entry into #MarkWarnerMum
