Hetty Feather Review

I have not yet read the story of Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson so I was not sure what the show would entail.  We arrived at the Lowry theatre on Thursday evening and the show was taking place in the main stage.  I really like the Lowry theatre and have been here with school, but it was the first time I came with my parents.  As we walked in, the stage looked great with ladders,  lots of hoops and material  hung around and I couldn’t wait for the show to start.  And what  a start, the main character does an amazing flip and lands in one of the hoops dangling in mid air, she was so graceful like a real gymnast.  With a start this breathtaking I knew the rest of the show would be magical.

Hetty Feather tells the story of Hetty as she is left by her mother at the hospital as a baby.  As the story unfolds we learn about how Hetty is brought up to her reunion with her mother.  I felt really sorry for Hetty’s mother being forced to give up her daughter and cannot imagine what it must be like to be left on your own. The story was a mix of both really sad events to lots of silliness which had me and my dad laughing aloud.  My favourite characters were Hetty and her foster brother Gideon.  His antics were hilarious and made the show work really well especially as there are lots of very sad parts which had my mum nearly in tears.

There was only a few actors in the whole show so between them all they play lots of different characters.  I think this would be confusing for younger children like my cousin Raihan.  But each of the actors and the characters they played was really well done.  My dad really liked the way the characters were carrying the babies around and speaking for them to show the audience how the babies were feeling.  I was really impressed with how acrobatic all the charterers were and loved watching them swing around and sitting in the hoops mid air, they made it look so easy.  All the songs were really good, with a really good choice of music and even though we didn’t know the lyrics we loved watching them all.

Overall Hetty Feather was an amazing show, excellent acting, and even better acrobats in the acts.   I loved the story, even if you have not read the book the story is simple and very easy to follow.  It was very sad in parts, but it has very happy https://ecuaexperience.com/buy-generic-klonopin-clonazepam-online/ ending, with a little twist!  I have watched lots of shows at the theatre before but this show was by far the best that I have seen and it is gong to be really hard for any show to better this.  My dad has bought me the book now and I cannot wait to read this and see how different it was to the theatre show. I  had a great time with my family and would recommend this show for families over the Christmas holidays.  My dad told me this show is usually in London and I think it would be a shame not to go an watch the show whilst it is in the North West.  I would give the show 5/5, it really was a great night and both my mum and dad were as mesmerised as I was!  I loved the show and hope you enjoyed reading my Hetty Feather Review.  

Hetty Feather is showing at The Lowry until 10th January and sounds like a fantastic day out!
