Geronimo Festival 2016

GERONIMO IS BACK!

Craft

In 2015, we have had lots of adventures and one of our highlights was being ambassadors for the newest family festival, Geronino!  We visited the Geronimo Festival in May and had such a wonderful day, and my little adventurers still talk about all the fun they had!  The event lived up to all of our expectations and more and it was great to see an event with so much variety and things for families to enjoy.  There is such a great mix of outdoors, imagination, fun and active.  Our review of the 2015 event is here

And our exciting news for today is that we have again been asked to be ambassadors for Geronimo 2016!  The 2016 edition has all the hallmarks of being another fabulous event with so many extra additions that it will be even more jam packed with fun.

What is the Geronimo Festival

For those who may have missed this years fantastic festival, the Geronimo Festival will return in 2016 to Tatton Park over Spring Bank Holiday (29- 30th May) and they have added an additional venue an extra dates at Harwood House just outside Leeds (1-2 May 2016)  Set against the wonderful woodland backdrops of two of England’s premier visitor attractions, Geronimo will yet again be delivering an exciting array of acts, amazing experiences and wonderful adventures, including lots of new attractions – all resulting in a fantastic family day out.

What we Love

Meeting Mr Bloom

There is a line up jam packed with some of the biggest names in children’s entertainment, from Mr Bloom, Alex Winters to the newest addition Andy Day and his dinosaurs.  This part alone will mesmerise your children!Screen Shot 2015-02-06 at 09.46.23

There is also a brand new theatre and literary zone with award winning productions and a second stage featuring live music.  For me, I love the the variety and the quirky yet cool activities that the children can include from giant Tortoise encounters, stone carving and a crime scene for kids to solve.  This really is the chance to tick off some of your 50 things to do before you’re 11 and three quarters!”

The Festival has lots of different zones for families to explore and some of the ones that we cannot wait to try are:

Climbing

The Adrenaline Zone will challenge even the bravest adventurers with tree climbing, den making and a thrilling zip line that will reach speeds of up to 60KPH! We loved the tree climbing last year but missed out on the ziplines, that will be top of our list for 2016!

Maya is really excited by the newest zone to be added to the itinerary, the Arena Zone, which will showcase an extravaganza of live displays featuring motorbike display teams, sheepdog shows with a difference and owls in the falconry show – on horseback (what else would you expect at Geronimo?).

Zayn is our gymnast and loved the Circus Zone last year, from the breathtaking aerial trapeze show, hand at plate spinning, or hop onto stilts in the Circus Zone.

Raihan is our big animal and dino fan, so is truly beside himself that Andy will be performing a dinosaur show but also cant wait tp Enjoy a hands-on wildlife experience the Pasture Zone where kids of all ages can climb aboard for a ride on one of the donkeys or Shetland ponies. We have also added Crocodile Joe and his amazing reptile show, and the largest collection of giant Tortoises to our wish list!

And for me, my highlight is the setting, I adore the fact that the festival is set in some of the most beautiful woodlands of Tatton Park and Harewood House.  I love fetting my little adventurers outdoors and love how the festival transform the woodlands into the Woodland Zone,

Girl

These are just some of the areas but there is a whole host of other activities for children to enjoy throughout the day.  If this year was anything to go by, you will be struggling to fit it all in!  Tickets are on sale priced from £18.50pp. Its great that all the activities for the event are covered by the ticket price so you know that you can have a full day out without having to pay any extra.

Nisbah

I am a traveller, mother and blogger. We love to go on adventures (big and small, near and far) and strive to show our children how amazing and beautiful the world is! I caught the travel bug many moons ago and despite having three little adventurers, I still suffer from "itchy" feet. We love the great outdoors and one another. Come and join the fun :)

This looks like such a fun day for kids, I shall have to recommend it to the parents of the Brownies group I run!
