National Forest Adventure Farm

This half term we are heading off to the National Forest for lots of outdoorsy holiday fun.  We have been housebound for the last few weeks with one ailment or another so we cant wait to get outdoors, have lots of fresh air and get very, very mucky.  One of our favourite activities to do with the children is to take them to the farm.  Following in the footsteps of their dad, the little adventurers adore animals and are always super excited to visit anything animal related.  I was looking for an animal activity and came across the fabulous looking National Forest Adventure Farm and it looks like a fantastic day out with extra activities on for half term! PERFECT!

From 7th – 22nd February children can get hands on with the Farm’s new arrivals, including bottle feeding lambs, plus give the fluffy chicks a stroke and meet the gorgeous new piglets, calves and alpacas.  I think this idea looks like such a good idea as the National Forest Adventure Farm is opening the doors of its new ‘Ewe Maternity Ward’ this February Half term so that lucky families stand a chance of glimpsing lambs entering the world, in a ‘Lambing Live’ style attraction.  Thirteen ewes are expecting lambs in February and the Farm has set up a special viewing area where the expectant mums and new arrivals can be visited by families.  I think the scientist in Doc would be well impressed with this and would have loads of questions!

In case its raining when we visit the farm has a number of additional aspects which can be enjoyed in any wether from a new springtime pantomime, the little adventurers enjoyed the christmas Panto we watched, so I know this one will go down a treat!

In addition there is a whole host of other activities pedal Go-karts, a jumping pillow, sand pit, mini assault course and Crazy Golf. Inside there is huge 3000m² Play Barn, offering three levels of the latest in exciting indoor fun adventure play equipment.

I am a traveller, mother and blogger. We love to go on adventures (big and small, near and far) and strive to show our children how amazing and beautiful the world is! I caught the travel bug many moons ago and despite having three little adventurers, I still suffer from "itchy" feet. We love the great outdoors and one another. Come and join the fun :)

  1. It looks like you have the half-term well and truly covered! I don’t know any kid who doesn’t enjoy a farm! It looks like a fab place though with lots of activities. I love how these adventure farms branch out to cater for indoor entertaiment too. Have fun!
