Free Formula racing? Yes please!

Family activities are my favourite thing, free family activities are my ultimate favourite.  I am always on the hunt for activities to try with our little adventurers and I try my utmost to find new and exciting adventures for us.  As they say variety is the spice of life and the more experiences we have the more well-rounded we become.  But I digress and I am sure you are waiting with bated breath to find out where this free activity is.  Well here you go: Fornula E Formula E is the newest part of Formula car racing!  Formula E, I hear you ask? is the new all-electric FIA Formula E Championship.  The official launch of the Championship was completed on 30th June 2014 with the first race taking place in September 2014.  However, 10 Formula E teams have been given five test days (some have passed) with every one open to the public free of charge, allowing unprecedented access to see these cars in action.  How awesome is that? The testing is taking part in Donington Park donington park(Leicestershire) and would be an absolutely, fantastic opportunity for children to experience these cars and formula racing first hand.  The dates that remain are 10th July 2014 (perfect for all those parents who have children home with the strike) and August 19th 2014 (great day out in summer holidays!).  The track opens at 9am, with the first lot of testing happening from 9.  There is also a pit walk from 1:30pm-2pm which is limited to approximately the first 400 people.  From the information I have read the visitors may also get to meet some drivers in the pit walk.  It would be worth asking this information when you arrive.  But how many children would say they have seen formula racing and even walked round the pit? I think its a great opportunity not to be missed! Admission is free but pre-registration is required.  they will send you an email conformation which you need to print and bring with you.  I think this is an awesome opportunity for anyone who can attend!  Post some pictures online, on our Facebook or twitter.  we would love to see that you enjoyed it!

I am a traveller, mother and blogger. We love to go on adventures (big and small, near and far) and strive to show our children how amazing and beautiful the world is! I caught the travel bug many moons ago and despite having three little adventurers, I still suffer from "itchy" feet. We love the great outdoors and one another. Come and join the fun :)
