We are MADS2015 Travel Blog finalists
Yay!! We are MADS2015 Travel Blog finalists!
As I type this post, I still have to pinch myself on what an incredible year we have had with our blog! I still cannot believe I am actually in the MAD blog award finals for the best family travel blog. Wahooo!!
I want to say a huge thank you to all of our readers. We may not be the biggest travel bloggers in blogosphere but we adore our blog and it is our space to share with you all of our tips, travel and inspiration from across the globe. We wanted to say thank you wholeheartedly for reading, sharing and encouraging us along our way. Your kind words, support have given me the inspiration and desire to continue with this blog even when things have been crazy at home or life has given us a set back or few!
FiveAdventurers started on a cold, grey day in January 2014 and was my way of recording and documenting all the adventures we had and are planning with our children. I always loved the idea of travel journals and I really wanted an online journal as we trotted our way along the globe. Our dream is to go travelling for 12-18 months in the next few years so this was our opportunity to start to record these adventures in preparation for when and if the biggest adventure of our life happens.
However, after speaking to lots of parents and seeing the alarm that travelling with children seems to spark in a large portion of the general public I wanted my blog to also be a place for inspirational travel with children. Travel and adventures like the families who take them come in different shapes and forms so I wanted to showcase the amazing range of travel opportunities and days out that families can have! And over the year we have managed to cover a whole range of adventures from all inclusive holidays to Turkey to glamping in Northumberland, to ideas for Istanbul and Dubai and why Malaysia should be on everyone’s lists!
Some of our most popular posts in the year are below and I am genuinely so proud that I have had thousands of people read these posts that I have written.
Why you should go on a round the world trip with children
the best luxury family resorts in the world
Get outdoors with your children – No more Couch Potatoes
Things to buy before you visit Disneyland Paris
So why do the MADS Awards matter to us?
The MADS Blog awards are the “Oscars” of parenting blogging awards. They give recognition for all the bloggers out there who spend hours upon hours laboring over their blogs and is some real recognition for the fantastic writing and skills out there. So here’s my tiny request, if you have enjoyed our blog and reading our adventures we would love for you to vote for us in the MADS 2015 awards. Every vote counts and it will take a minute or two of your time but will make the world of a difference to our adventurers and me.
Our focus of our blog will be changing in the next 12 months. I am now part of the amazing wonderful blogger programme and this has made me want to try and provide different, inspirational travel with children. We are off to Thailand and Singapore in August and we are hoping that this will be the first of many far flung adventures with our children. We have a road trip in Netherlands, possibly Lapland or Maldives or Marrakesh or Florida penciled in (very faintly) for the next 12 months. We are excited for the future of our blog and so proud to have made it to the finals. Once again a big thank you to you all!
