My five to revisit

This weeks post was brought about by a nomination from Samiya from Selims Raasta to list five places I would love to revisit again.  Before kids, Doc and I went on many adventures and the five I would love to revisit with the little adventurers (in no particular order) are:

Japan

This was our first stop on our round the world trip.  I loved Japan, its quirkiness, busy lifestyle yet we never felt rushed IMG_0570or claustrophic.  Nowhere that we have visited has matched Japan in its uniqueness.  Its a completely different culture, lifestyle and outlook on life that we haven’t come across anywhere else.  The country offers so much from the latest in all things gadgets (Doc was in heaven!) to some beautiful landscapes and scenery that has something for everyone.  We had  a jam packed 9 days here and would love to go again and take the children to the city life in Tokyo, temples in Kyoto and the beautiful area around Mount Fuji.

Australia

IMG_2051We spent a month in Oz and despite it nearly bankrupting us (its soooo expensive and its gone even more pricey in the last 7 years!) we loved every minute.  The sheer scale of the country is astounding.  Whilst in the outback never before had I a seen a sky speckled with so many stars that it left me speechless and completely in awe of how little and insignificant we are compared to the vastness of the universe (ok, ok, that was Docs line! ;).  The country has so much to offer from the gorgeous outback to the beautiful national parks at Kakudu and the tropics above Cairns.  The beaches at Fraser island and the gold coasts were amazing and the wildlife there is unparalleled.  I loved the cities and would love for my kids to have a taste of the great Australian lifestyle.

New Zealand

IMG_4101The south island is truly the most beautiful place on earth.  I lost my heart in south island and was often found myself lost in dreams of the majesty of the country.  We did a road trip across south island and regardless of which

way you went you had breathtaking scenery, whether it was the area around Mount Cook, the fjords of Milford Sound or the beautiful Glaciers, you will be spoilt for choice.  The country has every type of experience you can imagine.  We loved our road trip around the country but 3 weeks was way too short.  There are so many different experiences that you have on offer here that I would never hesitate for the chance to revisit.  The fjords od milford sounds, the glow worms of Te Anu, the peace of Wanaka (way better then its more popular sister town of Queenstown) seeing the geysers of Rotorua and my favourite of all of climbing up Franz Josef Glacier.  The north Island has more then we had a chance to explore but this is one of my must on my travel bucket list.

Norway

norwageian fjords

bergen

We visited Oslo when the day of 1p flights existed.   This was my ultimate holiday bargain.  Oslo was great, so relaxed, calm and great.  I have a thing for the nordic history and would love to go again and actually learn about the history in greater detail with my little adventurers.  One aspect that I really wanted to do revisit was the trip to Bergen.  We did the whistlestop tour and saw some beautiful scenery in the space of 24 hours.  I would love to do this on a much slower pace and taking in the stunning scenery, scandanavian lifestyle and all the aspects that make nordic living so great.
bergen 2   I think there is lots we can learn from the way life is lived in Norway.  It seemed so much more relaxed and family focused then life in the UK can be at times.

Pakistan

lahore
karumbar

Now this is one that even Doc hasn’t managed.  Over the years, Pakistan has been in the news for many a wrong reason and even today is still not that safe to travel too however, I would love to take the little adventurers and Doc there.  Not only are there a number of my family members there which is always nice for the kids to meet and see, but our family have a working farm house which would be an amazing experience for the little adventurers to have a first hand experience on.  In addition, Pakistan is one of the hidden gems in south east asia.  It has all the history of India, the scenery, food and culture but is still a path less trodden by many tourists, even today.  The hill stations of Murri, mountain ranges near the Himalayas to the north, to the history and gorgeous buildings of Lahore, the country would be an amazing experience for us all.

Nisbah

I am a traveller, mother and blogger. We love to go on adventures (big and small, near and far) and strive to show our children how amazing and beautiful the world is! I caught the travel bug many moons ago and despite having three little adventurers, I still suffer from "itchy" feet. We love the great outdoors and one another. Come and join the fun :)
