London’s coolest desserts – Quirky treats in London

London is full of lots of world class attractions but on the last few visits we have decided to spread our wings a little and sample the most unique treats which can be purchased in the Big Smoke. My little adventurers and the teens in our family love treats and we adore the unique and quirky too. So when we find a dessert place which offers gorgeous treats and is unique and quirky, its a double thumbs up. Here’s our pick of London’s coolest desserts.

1. Milk Train Cafe – Candy Floss and Ice Cream

We visited the Milk Train over the Christmas holidays and the candy floss and ice cream combination was surprisingly really tasty and filling.  The candy floss is added around the bottom of the cone before a super soft ice cream which comes in a few different flavours is added to top.  Not only that but they also have a great range of toppings which can be added.  The ice creams are £5 each but given how big they were, these can easily be shared between a few little adventurers.

2. Chin Chin Labs – Nitrogen Ice Cream

Following on with the ice cream theme, let us introduce you to the Chin Chin Labs.  Claiming to be Europe’s only retailer who sell liquid nitrogen ice creams, I know my teens would adore this. The Parlour is located in Camden Locks and looks both hip and cool. I lose 1-2 kg every week. My health indicators improved. I became more easy-going and lively. Another important benefit of Phentermine at http://shlclubhouse.org/phentermine-online/ was an improvement of metabolism. After taking the course, I lost weight from 105 to 80 kg. Phentermine is not a product for losing eight; this is some kind of energy drink! It is both convenient and effective. It has won tons of accolades and I am sure will be a treat worth having. Its location is perfect to include a visit to Camden Market which is one of London’s best loved markets.

3. Dominique Ansel Bakery – Cronut and Chocolate Chip Shots with milk

Famous for their trademarked Cronut (Combination of croissant and donuts) Ansel brought his amazing desserts from New York to London last year.  The one that was our list to try was the chocolate chip shots which are served with milk. It’s a cup made of chocolate, filled with melted chocolate – but the cup doesn’t melt! It’s magic and delicious.  My niece visited earlier this year and said it was worth all the hype.

4. The Cereal Killer Shop – All day cereal

So technically not a dessert but after watching a video about this place on Facebook, I had to include it in the list.  The Cereal Killer Shop, is the worlds first International Cereal Cafe. The shop sells over 100 different types of cereal from around the world, some of which are really cool and unique.  But the choice is not just in the cereals you then get to choose from 30 different varieties of milk and 20 different toppings. The decor of the shop is very retro and cool wth lots of memoriabilia from the 80s and 90s.  Despite it being overpriced for a bowl of cereal, its a quirky once off treat which I think would be very cool to try.

5. Nosteagia – Bubble waffles

Bubble waffles are making normal waffles seem so boring.  Taking their inspiration from Hong Kong’s street snack ‘egg puffs’, they waffles are perfect in both the crispy and softness and Nosteagia takes it one stage further and excels in toppings. You can add as many as you like, choices include Nutella, M&Ms, Oreos, peanut butter, strawberries, bananas, cream, and a few more and cost 50p each.

6. Maxwell Bar & Grill – Freakshakes

Freakshakes are something which is here to stay and London is home to some incredible places which sell them.  My favourite from the pick is Maxwell Bar & Grill.  As the original company to bring in the Freak shakes to London, they have had several shakes go viral such as the Pokeman Freakshakes.  I love the look of Maxwells as they have lots of special and themes sharks from Star Wars to Creme eggs!

7. Yolkin – Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwiches

I love the story behind this shop, the owner Sammie loved to bake macaroons but only ever used the egg whites. Not wanting to waste the yolks she set upon looking for another recipe to use them in. She stumbled on a recipe using yolks in ice cream and bought herself a small ice cream machine. One day an idea popped in to her head, what if she somehow, sandwiched them together.  And that saw the launch of Yolkin, the macaroon ice cream sandwiches look amazing!! Every week the flavours change but you can check on instagram for the latest flavours and also the location.  So always check the website before you travel!

8. Yorica – Free from desserts – those with Special Dietary requirements

A post shared by YoricaMoments (@yoricamoments) on

For those with special requirements for treats, Yorica is the place for you.  W hate to see child miss out on awesome treats and love that Yorica has everyone covered from those who are lactose intolerant, allergic to nuts, vegan, gluten-free! They also have a fabulous selection available too from milkshakes, frozen yoghurts and ice cream.  The frozen yoghurt looks fab with lots of topping choices!

9. Flesh & Buns – S’mores

A post shared by Bone Daddies (@bonedaddies) on

S’mores are everywhere on Pinterest and its the latest craze to arrive in the UK. For those who don’t know what they are (or have been living under a rock) they are marshmallows sandwiched by sweet crackers.  Flesh & Buns is inspired by Japanese izakayas, roughly translated as place designed for informal eating and drinking.  Whilst I haven’t really check the menu, the s’mores on the dessert menu look amazing.  F&B give you a mini campfire, and rotating components (right now it’s passion fruit marshmallows & almond chocolate biscuits) to scorch over it. They look and sound amazing!

10. Healthy option – Rock My Bowl

To balance out the post, we thought we would finish with a healthy option. Here is the prettiest porridge / granola / smoothie bowls you will see (ever). Each serving of Rock my Bowl is stunning and looks like a work of art (they even have flowers!!)

So there are the top 10 on my list! Have you been to any of them? Or have you got any other suggestions for our list?
