20 photographs which will make you want to Visit Salla Lapland right now

We have just returned from an amazing week with Crystal Ski in Salla Lapland.  Lapland is infamous for ts association with Father Christmas but there is so much more to the Lapland then just the man in red.  We did some incredible activities, were left breathless by the beautiful scenery and saw mother nature’s true magic come to life all the while having incredible fun as a family.  So here are are 20 photographs which will make you want to visit Salla Lapland right now.

The gorgeous scenery

You wake up, pull the curtains and you are treated to the most amazing, breathtaking sight.  No photo in the world will do it justice, it is like walking through Narnia (you almost expect Mr Tumnus to pop out!) the snow will glisten and everything looks truly magical.

Snow

My little adventurers have been craving for snow for years and Lapland is THE place to visit to have a taster of the white stuff.  Not only is there LOADS of it everywhere, but you can never imagine the depth of the snow and often you will find yourself buried deep, that itself is an experience that you will remember for a long time!

Then it gets even better when you are treated to a fresh snow fall and everything looks even more magical

No walking

My little adventurers are fabulous walkers but why walk when you have these awesome Lappish alternatives… firstly, being pulled along in a sledge (it is super easy and the sledges just glide along) or secondly when on top of a hill full of snow, why bother walking down when you can just slide all the way to the bottom!

Living in the woods

Part of family travel is to take time out and reconnect and staying in the woods really lends itself to this.  When you are staying in the woods, nothing beats staying in gorgeous wood cabins to really get the feeling of being in a winter wonderland.  Our accommodation was stunning both inside and out and look at the snow on the roof…

Activities

There is an incredible amount of activities that families can enjoy in Lapland and we did four fantastic ones! I have included two husky pictures because I loved the first pic so much 🙂

Bucket list items can be fulfilled

We did two bucket list items in Lapland and both were incredible.  I wanted my little adventurers to see a horizon full of thousands of stars, so everywhere you look, you just see stars and during our reindeer ride into the middle of nowhere we were treated with the following sight! Top of our bucket list was to see the Northern lights and to share that experience with your family is an experience money cannot buy!

We have hundreds of photographs of our time here and hand on heart it was an amazing travel experience and the photographs make me so nostalgic of our time there.  It was our first winter adventure and now I’m totally obsessed.

Nisbah

I am a traveller, mother and blogger. We love to go on adventures (big and small, near and far) and strive to show our children how amazing and beautiful the world is! I caught the travel bug many moons ago and despite having three little adventurers, I still suffer from "itchy" feet. We love the great outdoors and one another. Come and join the fun :)
